Typically located within the engine bay, the primary fuse box manages high-amperage circuits critical to vehicle operation. This includes protection for the alternator, the Engine Control Unit (ECU), cooling fans, the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and the exterior lighting systems.

The Role of Relays within the Fuse Box
Relays are integrated into fuse boxes to act as electromagnetic switches. They allow low-current signals from the dashboard or ECU to control high-current circuits. This configuration eliminates the need for heavy-gauge wiring to be routed directly to the passenger compartment, improving safety and reducing electrical resistance.
Identifying Electrical Failure Symptoms
A compromised fuse or relay typically manifests through specific mechanical or electrical symptoms:

- Visible Thermal Damage: Upon inspection, a failed fuse may exhibit a broken internal filament or signs of thermal discoloration on its plastic casing.
