Main Types of Car Lights

Headlights (Front)

  • Located at the front of the vehicle.

  • Provide visibility for the driver at night or in poor weather.

  • Also it help other drivers to see your vehicle.

  • Types:

    • Halogen (common, affordable)

    • LED (bright, energy-efficient, long-lasting)

    • Xenon / HID (very bright, bluish light)

    • Laser Headlights (high-end luxury/sports cars)

Taillights (Rear)

  • Found at the back of the car.

  • Glow red when headlights are on.

  • Let other drivers on the road know where your vehicle is in the dark.

 

Turn Signal Lights (Indicators)

  • Located at the front, sides, and rear.

  • Flash amber or orange to indicate a lane change or turn.

Reverse Lights

  • White lights at the back.

  • Illuminate when the car is in reverse gear.

  • Signal to others that you’re backing up.

Fog Lights

  • Positioned low on the front (and sometimes rear).

  • Used in fog, heavy rain, or snow for better visibility.

  • Emit a wide, low beam to reduce glare.
