Mercedes-Benz Intake Sensor
The Mercedes-Benz Intake Sensor Master Reference
Mercedes vehicles frequently run two separate air tracking systems depending on their generation: a traditional Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor attached directly to the airbox, or a Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) / Charge Air Temperature Sensor network built directly into the turbocharger intercooler piping to calculate air volume.
1. The Modern Turbo Fleet: MAP & Charge Air Networks
These vehicles bypass traditional MAF sensors on the airbox. Instead, they use high-pressure digital MAP and Charge Air Temperature sensors (A2769050000 / A0051535028) pushed right into the throttle tracks to monitor pressurized turbo air.

2015 – 2022 |
M274 / M264 (2.0L Turbo Petrol) |
High-turnover 4-Pin MAP sensor located directly behind the throttle body, paired with an inline Charge Air Temperature Probe on the intercooler neck. |
|
GLE-Class (W166/V167) CLS-Class (C257) |
2016 – 2024 |
OM651 / OM654 (4-Cyl Turbo Diesel) |
Heavy-Duty 4-Bar Diesel MAP setup (A0051535028) designed to withstand soot and oily blow-by vapour from the EGR system. |
2. The Legacy V6 & Old-School Passenger Fleet (MAF Systems)
These models rely on classic hot-film MAF housings clamped straight onto the engine air filter housing outlets to measure unpressurized ambient air.

C-Class (W204) E-Class (W212) |
2008 – 2014 |
M271 Evo (1.8L Turbo Petrol) |
Standard Slot-In MAF. Mounted in the primary plastic pipe feeding the intake side of the turbocharger. |
|
CLK-Class (C209) CLC-Class (CL203) |
2002 – 2009 |
M271 Kompressor (1.8L Supercharged) |
Oval-Plug MAF Block. Heavily requested secondary-market part; reads air mass before it enters the mechanical supercharger. |
|
CLS-Class (C218) E-Class (W212 V6) |
2011 – 2016 |
M276 (3.5L Naturally Aspirated V6) |
Dual-Intake Split MAF. These high-volume V6 engines draw air through twin airboxes, reading air metrics via symmetrical Left and Right sensors. |
3. Flagship Performance & Heavy Duty Utility (Dual-Bank Systems)
These setups handle massive air displacement profiles. Because they feature high-output twin-turbo arrangements, they always monitor the left and right engine banks separately.
