Parts Ja is a listing marketplace that connects buyers and sellers of vehicle parts. These Terms govern your use of our website and services. By using Parts Ja, you agree to these Terms and our Seller Guidelines (the “Playbook”).

 

Platform Role –

Parts Ja is a directory/connector only. We do not own, inspect, ship, or sell parts. All communication and transactions occur off-platform (typically via WhatsApp) and are solely between buyers and sellers.

 

Accounts & eligibility-

• You must be 18 years and older to create an account.  
• You are responsible for keeping your account and contact details accurate and secure.  
• Free listings are a privilege and may be revoked for violations.

 

Seller obligations & Playbook-

The Golden Rule: If a buyer is unable to tell exactly what the part is from your photos and description, the post will be rejected.

• Photo Standards: Minimum 3 real photos — (1) whole part, (2) part number/label, (3) damage/wear. No stock images for used parts.  
• Mandatory Tags: Make/Model/Year, Condition (New / Used (Working) / For Parts/Repair), Price (no “Inbox for price”).  
• Sold Protocol: Delete items sold within 2 hours of completed transaction.  
• Communication: Keep chats professional. Harassment, spam, or abusive conduct results in an immediate ban.

Prohibited items-

Do not list:

• Stolen goods (we cooperate with Jamaican law enforcement).  
• Items facilitating illegal activity (e.g., VIN/Chassis number tampering tools).  
• Hazardous materials (e.g., faulty parts that may cause harm).  

Listings violating this will be removed, and accounts may be suspended or reported.

 

Safety & Conduct-Parts Ja: Safe Trading Guide  

At Parts Ja, we connect you, but your safety is your priority. Follow these simple “Rules of the Road” for every transaction.

 

For Buyers: Inspect Before You Pay. 

•   Meet in Public: Always meet in a well-lit, busy public place. Ideal spots include Gas Stations, Shopping Mall parking lots or near a Police Station.
•   Bring a Mechanic: If you aren’t sure about a part, bring a friend or a mechanic to inspect it before money changes hands.
•   Verify the Part: Check for serial numbers or manufacturer stamps. For expensive items (e.g. engines or transmissions), ask to see the part functioning if possible.
•  Avoid Deposits: Never send a “holding deposit” via cash, bank transfer, Lynk, Fygaro, etc., before seeing the part in person.

 

For Sellers: Protect Your Business

•  Confirm Payment: If accepting a bank transfer or Lynk, verify the funds are in your account before handing over the part. Do not rely on a screenshot of a “successful” transaction.
•  Stay in Public: Never invite a stranger to your private home. If the part is too big to move, ensure you have others with you at your shop during the pickup.
•   Note the ID: For high-value sales, it is okay to ask to see an ID, e.g., a driver’s License to verify who you are dealing with.

 

????General “Red Flags” ????

•  The price is “too good to be true” (e.g., a used engine for $50,000 JMD).
•   The other person is overly pushy or rushing the deal.
•   The user asks for personal information such as your home address or TRN.
•   They insist on meeting in a secluded or dark location.

Report all suspicious listings or behaviour(s) immediately.

 

Removal, Suspensions & Enforcement

We reserve the right to remove listings and suspend or terminate accounts for violations, fraud, or illegal activity. We may cooperate with law enforcement and disclose user information as required by law.

 

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Parts Ja harmless from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the platform, your listings, or your transactions.

 

Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

The laws of Jamaica govern these Terms. Any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of Jamaica, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

 

Intellectual Property

Our Content (Platform IP)-

• All content on this website, including but not limited to the “Parts Ja” name, logo, website design, software code, “Success Story” templates, and original graphics, is the exclusive property of Parts Ja. You may not copy, redistribute, or “scrape” our data for use on any other platform without express written permission.

 

Your Content (User-Generated IP)-

• By uploading photos, descriptions, or prices to Parts Ja, you (the Seller) grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, host, store, and display that content.

 

• Purpose: This allows us to showcase your parts to buyers on our website and feature your listings in our social media marketing (Facebook/Instagram ads) and Google Ads to assist you in selling faster.

 

• Ownership: You retain the original ownership of your photos. Parts Ja does not claim ownership of your inventory images.

 

Copyright Infringement

• Users are prohibited from uploading images that they do not own or have permission to use (e.g., using official manufacturer stock photos without a license). Parts Ja reserves the right to remove any listing that violates the intellectual property rights of a third party.

 

Changes to Terms

Parts JA reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time; continued use of the website following publication of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
